    Equitable Life & Casualty To Become SILAC Insurance Company

    Equitable Life & Casualty Insurance Company, a leading provider of fixed and fixed indexed annuities, announced August 31, 2020, that it will be changing its corporate name to SILAC Insurance Company. The transition to the new name will be completed by January 1, 2021.

    Navy Mutual Announces New CEO

    Navy Mutual Aid Association announced the selection of retired Rear Admiral Brian Luther, USN as its new President and Chief Executive Officer. He will take the place of Retired Rear Admiral Bruce Engelhardt, USN, who has led Navy Mutual for the past 15 years.

    Over 50 Insurers Using EHR Platform

    MIB has reached a key milestone in the industry's adoption of electronic health records; it has signed more than 50 U.S. life insurance carriers to use its MIB EHR platform for underwriting.

    LIC Member Investors Preferred Featured in Article Highlighting Fastest Growing Life Companies

    In an August 21, 2020 article in Life Annuity Specialist, life insurance companies with at least $50 million in new sales for 2019 were asked what helped drive their sales growth. LIC member Investors Preferred, one of the featured companies, whose sales grew fourfold to $63.8 million, attributed the growth to its expertise in financial planning for high net worth individuals.

    Colonial Life Launches New Coverage for COVID-19

    Colonial Life has released a new group critical illness plan with an optional rider that offers a lump sum benefit for hospitalization for treatment of COVID-19 and more than a dozen other infectious diseases such as antibiotic-resistant bacteria, Legionnaires' disease, meningitis, Lyme disease and sepsis.
