  • 1.  Identifying FMLA on the file

    How is everyone identifying FMLA on the LDEx-BEM file?  I have receiving conflicting information where some are indicating we identify that the client has FMLA on the coding supplement as coverage/product where we also typically identify STD, LTD, Life, etc and others have indicated to identify it under the User Defined Category since FMLA is not a product.  I have concerns around this since we still require to map to our standard file and must have one area to pull this from rather than multiple.  I am curious to know what the consensus is out there in order to maintain consistency across the board.

    I think you will find using the "User Defined Category" on BEM to not be the best solution. We usually try and limit the use of that functionality due to the complexity that goes along with key/value pairs.
